On November 4, 2025, Bellbrook residents will vote on a proposed 2.2 mill continuing levy dedicated to funding public safety services, including Police, Fire, and EMS.

Proposal: A 2.2 mill continuing property tax levy
Purpose: To provide ongoing funding for Bellbrook’s public safety services (Police and Fire/EMS)
Estimated Annual Revenue: Approximately $610,000
Use of Funds: Operations, staffing, training, and equipment for Police and Fire/EMS
💰 Cost to Property Owners
The levy is calculated at 2.2 mills
This equals $77 per year for every $100,000 of appraised property value
Assessed value is 35% of appraised value in Ohio
Example:
Appraised Value: $200,000
Assessed Value: $70,000
Annual Cost = $154
🧾 How the Funds Would Be Allocated
Department Estimated Amount Purpose
Police $420,000 Operations, staffing, equipment
Fire/EMS $190,000 Operations, staffing, equipment
A dedicated Public Safety Fund would be used to track and report how levy funds are spent.
📉 What Happens if the Levy Does Not Pass
According to city budget projections, if the levy does not pass:
Police may face an approximate reduction of $285,000
Fire/EMS may face an approximate reduction of $189,500
Possible impact includes reduced staffing and changes to current service levels
Funding for other city services such as paving or stormwater may also be reduced to offset shortfalls
