Transportation Planning
Understanding the intricacies of our county's transportation needs and formulating comprehensive plans to address them is a significant aspect of Pima County's operations. We collaborate closely with Pima Association of Governments and other local entities to devise the long-range Regional Mobility and Accessibility Plan (RMAP) and the short-range Transportation Improvement Program (TIP. With these programs, we hope to optimally utilize diverse funding sources, including federal and local funds, the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), and the Roadway Development Impact Fee Program, to enhance our infrastructure.
Pima County greatly values the insights and involvement of its residents and businesses in shaping the design and execution phases of our projects. A citizen advisory committee is usually set up for significant projects, a step reflecting our commitment to open collaboration and active community engagement. Our Community Participation and Mitigation Ordinance outlines the policies and practices that encourage and facilitate this crucial citizen participation. Your input plays an integral role in influencing the county's decision-making process, offering a distinct opportunity for you to contribute to the shaping of our shared environment.
