Hazard Tree Removal Rebate Program
Wasco County is committed to safeguarding its communities and addressing wildfire risks in a proactive way. Through grant funding from the Community Wildfire Defense Grant, we are collaborating with the Oregon Department of Forestry to help property owners in Wamic, Tygh Valley, Pine Grove, Pine Hollow, and Juniper Flat remove trees that pose a hazard to their safety through the Hazard Tree Removal Rebate Program. This program empowers residents to actively reduce fire hazards on their land while promoting healthier and more resilient landscapes.
Join us in building a safer and stronger Wasco County. By participating in this initiative, you help shape how our region prioritizes wildfire resilience and community safety. If you're concerned about a potential hazard tree on your property, ODF foresters are offering free assessments to help identify risks and guide your next steps for tree removal. To learn more or register for these benefits, contact the Oregon Department of Forestry District Office in The Dalles at 541-296-4626.
