Next phase of 32nd Avenue South construction is set for May 5

Construction crews are preparing to begin Phase 2 of Segment 2 for the ongoing 32nd Avenue South reconstruction project, set to begin Monday, May 5.

Phase 2 impact:

This portion of the project closes 32nd Avenue South between 17th Street South and 18th Street South. Northbound and southbound lanes on 17th Street and 18th Street will remain open. This phase is necessary to safely and efficiently reconstruct underground utilities and surface infrastructure as part of the City of Fargo’s multiphase project aimed at improving traffic flow, pedestrian access, and flood resilience.

Phase 1, from west of 15th Street South to east of 17th Street South, will remain closed. This area was originally closed in early April as crews began work on the first phase of Segment 2.

The same eastbound detour on 35th Avenue South and westbound detour on 27th Ave South will remain posted throughout the duration of the project. Detours can be followed as shown in the project map below. Motorists should expect delays, reduced lanes and shifting traffic patterns. Construction signage will be posted to guide drivers safely through the area.

All local businesses will remain accessible throughout construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained on at least one side of the street at all times.
