Projects Advancing the Strategic Plan

Infrastructure and Resilience

Below is a listing of major projects that are currently underway in support of the Strategic Plan and annual Commission Priorities.

Goal: Be a sustainable and resilient community.

  • Water Treatment Plan
    Through a public-private partnership (P3), the City is replacing the existing Fiveash Water Treatment Plan with a new facility, the Prospect Lake Clean Water Center. This new, state-of-the-art facility should be completed by 2026 with an approximate cost of $666 million.

Facilitate an efficient, multimodal transportation network.

  • Sidewalk Master Plan
    Through this initiative a Sidewalk Master Plan will be developed to identify and prioritize needed sidewalk improvements.
  • LauderTrail
    The City is developing a high-quality trail system designed for pedestrians and bicyclicts to connect businesses, parks and green spaces, neighborhoods, bus routes, schools, Water Taxi stops, and two railway stations.
  • Micro Mover
    The LauderGO! Micro Mover, powered by Circuit, is a free and eco-friendly transportation option that connects Brightline, Broward County Transit, and the LauderGO! Community Shuttle.
  • Las Olas Boulevard Mobility
    This initiative is exploring ways to improve Las Olas Boulevard from S. Andrews Avenue to the beach and includes sidewalk improvements and expansion, pedestrian safety improvements, and landscaping enhancements.
