Tennie Street Reconstruction (SUMP-L)

About

Upcoming Water Shutdown to Tie Lines Together. The shutdown should occur at some point in December, 2025.

The Tennie Street Infrastructure and Improvement Project represents a crucial step in enhancing our city’s infrastructure, following a thorough survey and priority rating completed in 2020 by engineering firm Kimley-Horn. Selected as a priority by the City Council, this project necessitated a phased, fiscally responsible approach to address both the street and the utilities in and around it.

The improvements include critical water, sewer, and stormwater drainage infrastructure. This comprehensive, future-focused approach ensures the city maximizes both time and budget, creating long-term solutions that enhance the area’s resilience and service quality.

The project is estimated to cost just over $3 million. In September 2024, JBM Excavation LLC was awarded the bid and the Notice to Proceed was given in October 2024. Per the contract, JBM Excavation is expected to complete the project within 365 days.

A similar phase is planned for Wine Street in the future, as the city continues to address streets needs strategically.
