Wastewater Master Plan
About
The City of Gainesville is embarking on an essential initiative to chart the path forward for our wastewater infrastructure, ensuring it meets the needs of our growing community for the next 25 years. This comprehensive effort will identify and address current system deficiencies while planning for future residential and commercial development. By developing and calibrating a detailed hydraulic model of the existing system, we aim to create a resilient, efficient, and reliable wastewater network that supports Gainesville’s long-term growth and prosperity.
The significant scope elements of this project are as follows:
- Existing land use determination and ultimate land use projections;
- Temporary flow and rainfall monitoring;
- Historical wastewater demand analysis;
- Existing hydraulic model creation and calibration;
- Existing wastewater system analysis and deficiency identification;
- Future wastwater demand projections through the 5-year, 10-year, 25-year, and Buildout planning periods;
- Capital Improvement Plan development for the Capacity Upgrade, 5-year, 10-year, and 25-year scenarios.
The recommendations developed through this study will reflect Gainesville’s unique needs and priorities. We will build an infrastructure plan that not only meets technical standards but also strengthens the foundation of our city for decades to come.
