About

The City of Gainesville remains committed to proactive infrastructure improvements that balance community needs with responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources. The 2025 Mill & Overlay Improvements Project is focused on extending the life of existing streets through targeted resurfacing work that improves drivability, safety, and long-term performance without the disruption and cost of full reconstruction.

Project work is now moving forward, with initial resurfacing scheduled to begin on portions of Line Drive, Melody Lane, and Bridle Lane, following the completion of utility upgrades in those areas by ATMOS Energy. While the City and utility providers plan and execute independent projects, coordinating work when possible helps reduce overall disruption, avoid redundant construction, and make more efficient use of time and public resources. In some cases, that coordination may result in short-term scheduling adjustments, but the long-term benefit is a more streamlined process for residents and taxpayers alike.

We appreciates the community’s patience as we continue making strategic investments in Gainesville’s street infrastructure.
