London's Local Nature Recovery Strategy

The Greater London Authority is responsible for preparing a Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for London.

The LNRS is part of a new system of spatial biodiversity strategies in England, required by law under the Environment Act 2021. London is one of the 48 regions tasked with creating this strategy.

Our aim is for London’s ecological network to be bigger, better, and more joined up.

About the project

Email

Over the past couple of years, we have been putting together a new nature strategy for London. We are now consulting the public on our Draft Local Nature Recovery Strategy. We particularly want to hear what Londoners and organisations in London think of the draft priorities for nature in London and the opportunity areas we have mapped.

The priorities are set out in a document called the Statement of Biodiversity Priorities and the opportunity areas are shown on the Local Habitat Map. The document (including its annexes) and the map together make the LNRS. You can see all of these by clicking 'View the draft strategy' below.

Using the tiles below, you can view the draft LNRS and complete one or two surveys to give your feedback. You do not have to read everything and can give your views on all or just part of the LNRS.
