This comprehensive project, 3 years in the making, a joint effort of Town Staff, Professional Consultants and the Planning and Zoning Commission, represents an overhaul of the regulations focused on organization and ease of use. It also includes important additions to the regulations including Affordable Housing, Accessory Dwelling Units and Electronic Vehicle Charging Stations. ***- First Selectman Matthew Hoey
For the past several years, the Planning & Zoning Department, in collaboration with the Planning & Zoning Commission, has been working to overhaul the Town's Zoning Regulations. We have reached the final stages of this comprehensive rewrite and at this point we welcome public comment on the final draft.
Beginning last Summer the Commission began holding monthly public information sessions regarding the new draft regulations. During this time the Commission received vital feedback and comments on a variety of Regulation specifics including Commercial Zones and their Uses, Affordable Housing and Sustainability.
Beginning April 13, 2023 the Commission will open a 35 day public comment period on the finalized draft of the Regulations, leading up to a public hearing and adoption of the new Zoning Regulations. The first Public Hearing will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
