The Gulf Shores Plan
A decade ago, Gulf Shores embarked on Vision 2025, a community-driven initiative that transformed the city through active resident participation. Through dedicated public engagement, residents contributed to key achievements: thriving schools, a revitalized Gulf State Park, expanded medical care access, and transformed city districts.
Gulf Shores is now moving forward with an even stronger emphasis on resident involvement. In April, the City Council approved an agreement with Interboro Partners, LLC to lead the city’s new comprehensive plan, a long term road map designed to guide how Gulf Shores grows over the next 20 years.
Coined 'The Gulf Shores Plan', this initiative is a citywide planning effort that will guide decision-making, investment, and growth through 2045. Building upon the City's Vision 2035 Plan, the Comprehensive Plan will establish a shared vision and actionable strategies for the future of Gulf Shores.
The plan will address topics such as land use, housing, transportation, economic development, parks and open space, environmental resilience, infrastructure, and public services. It will serve as a roadmap for elected officials, City staff, residents, businesses, and community partners as they work together to shape the city's future.
Through community engagement and data-driven analysis, the Gulf Shores Plan will create a framework for managing change while supporting the needs of current and future residents.

The Gulf Shores Plan is a community-driven process, and your input will help shape the future of Gulf Shores.
Throughout the planning process, residents, business owners, property owners, community organizations, and visitors will have multiple opportunities to share ideas, provide feedback, and help guide the development of the plan. Community input will play a critical role in identifying priorities, evaluating opportunities, and shaping recommendations for The Gulf Shores Plan.
This “Get Involved” page will serve as the central hub for public participation opportunities throughout the project. As new engagement activities are announced, information and registration details will be posted here.
