Vision 2035

A decade ago, Gulf Shores embarked on Vision 2025, a community-driven initiative that transformed the city through active resident participation. Through dedicated public engagement, residents contributed to key achievements: thriving schools, a revitalized Gulf State Park, expanded medical care access, and transformed city districts.

As Vision 2025 concludes, Gulf Shores is launching Vision 2035 with an even stronger emphasis on resident involvement. Through community input sessions and one-on-one conversations between residents and city leadership, Vision 2035 is being built from the ground up, focusing on crucial areas like healthcare access, environmental stewardship, planned growth, education, and economic opportunities. This collaborative approach ensures that the community's voice remains at the heart of Gulf Shores' future.

Business Stakeholder Meeting

The City of Gulf Shores, in partnership with the Coastal Alabama
Business Chamber, will host a Vision 2035 Business Stakeholder Workshop on March 11, 2025, at the Erie Meyer Civic Center. The workshop aims to gather input from local business leaders to incorporate into Vision 2035 – the city's long-range planning initiative to establish Gulf Shores' priorities, guide development decisions, and determine resource allocation for the next decade.

The event will commence with a networking breakfast at 7:50 AM, followed by the main session at 8:30 AM. Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft will deliver opening remarks before city staff begins facilitating an interactive input session to capture valuable insights from the business community.

This workshop is open to Gulf Shores business owners and leaders, regardless of Chamber membership status. The only requirement is that participants must operate or work at a business within Gulf Shores corporate city limits.

The city recently hosted a community meeting and provided online opportunities for all residents to provide input on several areas of focus for Vision 2035. Once the plan is developed residents will have a final opportunity for input prior to the plan rolling out this summer.
