Travel in Hereford
We want to develop transport in Hereford so that it is easy and pleasant to travel around our historic City.
We are looking to reduce congestion and carbon emissions, improve air quality, offer reliable alternatives to car use and provide attractive well-maintained public areas that support and encourage walking and cycling.
We are currently considering options to deliver these improvements. This will include reviewing the proposals for a Hereford bypass and southern link road, and other road schemes that could deliver improvements more quickly such as an eastern link and new river crossing, giving more road space to public transport and cycling, and changes to traffic signals, Alternatives to the car such as electric buses, ultra-light rail and off-road walking and cycling routes will also be considered.
From the beginning of February until 31 March 2020, we invited people to share their experience of travel and transport in Hereford and to let us know their ideas for how to make their journey better.
More than 1,000 people participated. You can see their comments on the map below.
