About the Local Nature Recovery Strategy

A countywide strategy to improve nature

Herefordshire Local Nature Recovery

ABOUT THE LOCAL NATURE RECOVERY STRATEGY 📌

Introduction

Herefordshire Council have developed, with our partners, a draft Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for the county that identifies locations to create or improve habitats where they will deliver the greatest benefit to nature and the wider environment. The Herefordshire LNRS is one of 48 LNRSs, which together will completely cover England and support national policies for nature recovery. The LNRS is made up of three elements, a Strategy Area Description, a Statement of Biodiversity Priorities and a Local Habitat Map, which together :

  • Agree priorities for nature’s recovery;

  • Map the most valuable existing areas for nature; and

  • Map specific proposals for creating and improving habitat for nature and wider environmental goals
