Health, Aquatics & Wellness Center
Dive into the future of health and recreation in the Hermiston area as we explore plans for a state-of-the-art indoor facility designed to bring year-round aquatic fun, fitness opportunities, and wellness resources to our community.
About the Project
The City of Hermiston has partnered with the county, nearby cities, and community organizations to explore the possibility of building an indoor regional health, wellness and aquatic center. This facility would be designed to serve residents of all ages and abilities and meet the community need for a modern wellness center.
The Health, Aquatics, and Wellness Center (HAWC) Task Force includes members from local governments, educational organizations, and healthcare and utility providers. The group began meeting in September 2024 to evaluate current and projected needs, review program models, assess potential sites, and explore funding models.
The proposed project is a state-of-the-art center with year-round health, recreation and community center. Community input and financial sustainability are central to the planning process.
Your input is essential as we work to design a space that reflects the priorities and values of our growing community. As part of this process, we are seeking feedback on key features such as facility amenities, membership and pricing options, and even the naming of the center. We invite you to participate in this collaborative effort to enhance the health and wellness opportunities available in our city.
