Housing Allocations Policy consultation
The Housing Allocations Policy sets out a clear framework for the fair, effective, and transparent allocation of affordable housing within the borough.
While the policy gives priority to those in greatest housing need, it also supports wider strategic objectives - such as increasing housing choice, promoting stable and sustainable communities, and making the most efficient use of the social housing stock in the borough.
Local authorities are required by law to publish a Housing Allocations Policy, setting out how social and affordable housing is allocated in their area. We are currently updating our existing policy to ensure it reflects current housing needs, legislative changes, and local priorities.
