F-48 W Cherry Creek to South Skunk River

Surface paving work on the mainline is in process. Anticipate mainline paving work resuming at W 62nd St S (Metz Road) and continuing west the week of June 3rd. Please note, where surface paving is occurring the road will be hard closed (no local or thru traffic) for some or most of the day. Expect completion of mainline paving work by Wednesday June 5th weather permitting. Mainline paving work will be followed up by sideroad paving, guardrail installation, pavement marking, and other miscellaneous work. During the completion of this remaining work, intermittent lane closures of the road will occur. Asphalt paving and other associated work in this section should be completed by June 14th, weather permitting. After June 14th, again weather permitting, F-48 will be open to traffic from the Newton City Limits (Thomas Jefferson Drive) to Hwy S-52. The portion of F-48W from Hwy S-52 to the South Skunk River bridge will likely remain hard closed (no through traffic) for concrete pavement work. Further updates to follow on this next stage of work.
