Building Community in Lafayette
As we prepare for the community's growth and improvement in the coming months and years we want your input so that the many voices of Lafayette LA help shape our future together.
Other Projects

Bertrand Drive Revitalization
This project has been in the works since it was first proposed at a Better Block event held in 2015, which successfully resulted in DOTD re-striping the roadway from an overbuilt 4 lane roadway to a safer, 3-lane roadway with bike lanes. Now, in 2026, with Moncus Park’s parking challenges caused by their overwhelming success since their grand opening in 2022, and the public’s growing desire for off-road recreational pathways, the Administration has hired for the nation’s best urban designers, Stantec, Inc., to do the urban design for the Bertrand Drive Revitalization project.
Johnston St. and Louisiana Ave. Infrastructure Improvements
Big changes are coming to Lafayette’s Johnston Street and Louisiana Avenue corridors—improving traffic flow, boosting bike and pedestrian access, and modernizing infrastructure while preserving the area’s unique character.
