During January and February, the KPG-Psomas team will be working along 91st Avenue NE to survey the street and underground utilities.
During the team's surveying field work, you will see surveyors working in both the roadway and roadway shoulders. These surveyors will not enter private property, but may be flagging the boundary line between your property and the City right-of-way (ROW). Please leave the flags undisturbed.
At the same time as our surveying, a consultant arborist will be evaluating trees in the area of the new sidewalk and bike lane, including trees close to that area, to determine trees that may need to be removed by the project. Trees may also be flagged and/or tagged during this effort.
Finally, our geotechnical engineering consultant will be drilling borings in the street shoulder on February 1st and possibly the 2nd, in order to evaluate soil conditions for the new sidewalk and new drainage. This will involve a truck-mounted drill rig and there will be traffic control and, in a couple areas, flaggers. Drive and walk carefully by the work zones!
By the end of February, we will have a preliminary layout for the new pedestrian/bicycle path(s) and be looking at potential options and alternatives, such as a shared-use combined path versus seperate sidewalk and bike lanes.
