How Does This Project Fit Into The Transportation Benefit Program?

This project will complete one phase of the Main Street roadway project funded by the Transportation Benefit Program (TBP) through a retail sales tax adopted by City voters on November 8, 2022. The retail sales tax for this program began to be collected on April 1, 2023 and is programmed to continue funding the design and construction of program-selected transportation projects listed in Resolution 2022-10 for a period of 10 years.

Resolution 2022-10 included a list of roadway improvement projects to be partially funded by the TBP. A significant goal for this funding was to provide local match and project funds to leverage state and/or federal grant funding opportunities. Consequently, this project has been partially funded with a $2.5 million federal transportation grant, secured by TBP matching funds, for construction in 2025.
