Soper Hill Sidewalk and Sewer Improvements
Project Description
The city has been growing rapidly, and updated infrastructure is needed. In 2022, the voters passed the Transportation Benefit District (TBD) resolution, embarking on a project to build new sidewalks and multiuse paths across the city, in high need areas near schools and other areas. Additionally, much of the city has lacked sewer, and the city is busy connecting those areas to sewers. One of both areas is Soper Hill Rd; adjacent to Stevens Creek Middle School, new businesses, neighborhoods lacking pedestrian access, and Eagle Ridge Park. This is listed as TPB 7 in the overall Transportation Benefit District.
The city will build approximately 2300 LF of multiuse path and sanitary sewer improvements from Lundeen Parkway along Soper Hill Rd to the roundabout, and side sewer access to all neighbors. Besides a multiuse path, roadway improvements will include ADA Curb ramps, pedestrian illumination, and access to a revamped Eagle Ridge Park. The City has applied for additional funding with the Transportation Improvement Board, and is awaiting the results.
This project will be not just an infrastructure upgrade, it’s also an opportunity to create a safer, more accessible Lake Stevens for all. We can build multimodal access to the senior center and Lake Stevens Park, with access to Lundeen Pkwy and the bus network. Ensuring we address practical requirements while meeting community needs is paramount, and to do that effectively we need you. Your input will inform our decision-making, ensuring this project leads to a more cohesive, secure, and functional neighborhood we can all be proud of.
