The City's Parks Department recently applied for a new, larger federal grant from the National Parks Service, in cooperation with the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office. We will learn later this year if we have been awarded that grant. As substantial park improvement projects are often expensive for any city to undertake, federal and state grants often form a critical element in successful delivery of these projects.
In the meantime, the City is providing early design review comments to our BCRA design team in anticipation of the next stage of project design.
