Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan
Every six years the City updates the Parks and Recreation Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan to plan for the future of parks and recreation in the city.
In 2025 the City will begin drafting the first Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) plan to detail our current inventory of parks, facilities and recreation and set level of service standards for the next six years. This will also serve as a guide for decision making, capital projects, acquisition and more. The PROS plan will supplement the Comprehensive Plan for the city by replacing the parks chapter.
The Parks and Recreation Department wants to hear from the community during this process and several opportunities will be available for input.
This project is funded by the General Fund.

Consultant Selected
The City has selected a consultant to draft the PROS Plan.
Project timeline
This project is set to begin in March 2025 and finish in January 2026.
Important Dates
Consultant Introduction and Project Scope Meeting
The City selected Conservation Technix as the consultant to draft the city’s first PROS Plan. Conservation Technix has done extensive work specializing in PROS plans in the Pacific Northwest.
The City Council and Parks and Recreation Planning Board will meet at the council workshop meeting on June 3, 2025 at 6pm to introduce this exciting planning project and discuss the scope of the project. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend to hear about this plan and future opportunities for public engagement.

The PROS Plan survey opens to the community and will close on August 1, 2025 12:00 AM.
