"Lake Stevens is a cherished community gem, but its high phosphorus levels can lead to harmful algal blooms, affecting both the ecosystem and our enjoyment of the lake. The "I Love Lake" campaign encourages residents to adopt simple, impactful practices to reduce phosphorus runoff, such as minimizing fertilizer use, properly disposing of pet waste, and planting native vegetation. By making these small changes, we can collectively preserve the lake's health and beauty for generations to come.
