New Southeast Lebanon Park (Mountrose Street Park)

New Southeast Lebanon Park (Mountrose Street Park)

The City Council approved the purchase of 20 acres of land along Mountrose Street near Tower Road to support two important community needs: new park space and improved stormwater management in the southeast part of the city.

Approximately half of the property will be developed into future park space using Park Sales Tax funding as it becomes available. This fulfills a long-standing commitment to provide park access on the southeast side of Lebanon, tied to voter-approved Parks and Stormwater Sales Taxes that replaced the Parks property tax levy and lowered it to zero. The remaining acreage will be used as a regional stormwater detention area designed to help reduce recurring flooding in this area which construction on is already underway.

This project was advanced through the City of Lebanon’s planning and decision-making process, with City Council taking formal action based on input and coordination with the Parks Department and the Lebanon Park Board. This collaboration helped identify long-term needs, evaluate the site, and begin planning for a future park that supports both recreation and infrastructure goals.

This project is still in the early planning phase. Residents are invited to begin engaging now by sharing ideas, brainstorming possibilities, and providing input through the survey on this page and other engagement tools as planning continues. This feedback will help inform future design concepts and amenities.
