Driving to Kirkgate Market or Leeds Bus Station using the ring road

Driving to Kirkgate Market and Leeds Bus Station

Driving to Leeds city centre? Use the ring road - map

If you are driving to Kirkgate Market or Leeds Bus Station from the south, east or west of the city, we would recommend using Junction 4 of the M621.

This is usually easier than using Junction 3 and driving through the city centre, as previous routes are likely to have changed and in some instances may now be closed to private vehicles.

  • On leaving the M621 at Junction 4, follow the A61. Stay left to follow the A61 the either:

Join East Street, following this to Kirkgate. Turn left onto Cross York Street and then right onto York Street for the NCP multi-storey car park.

This route is shown as an orange line on the map below.

Or:

Follow the A61 onto St Peter’s Street to the roundabout, turning left into the Victoria Gate multi-storey car park.

This route is shown as a purple line on the map below.

  • If you are travelling from the A64(M) westbound, follow the A64(M) as it becomes York Road and then New York Road, before leaving onto Eastgate. Follow onto the A61 and then follow the roundabout, turning left onto the Victoria Gate multi-storey car park. Alternatively, at the roundabout follow onto the A61and then Kirkgate. Continue along Kirkgate as it bends right, following this until turning right onto Cross York Street and then York Street.

To pick up people from outside the bus station, follow St Peter’s Street and at roundabout turn left onto Eastgate before then turning left onto Vicar Lane and left onto George Street and Dyer Street.
