The Town Hall closed to the public in January 2025 and since then various teams have been inside the building working on the internals including new CCTV, access control and electrical mains upgrade, strip out of legacy audio / visual installation and removal of the temporary stage extension.
Work on the externals and new bar and cafe as well as improvements to the Alexandra Hall started on site in early February 2026 with the main contractor.
Since the works began the team have uncovered some fantastic heritage pieces.
Here is what your new Town Hall will look like once it's completed in 2027.
