Housing Leeds Feedback
Earlier this year, over 500 residents gave us feedback on how we care for grass, hedges, and shared green spaces in areas with council housing.
Here’s what you told us:
- 58% of residents said we do a good job maintaining grassed areas, but fewer people were happy with how we look after shrubs, flower beds, and hedges.
- Most people agreed that grass near paths and walkways should be kept tidy.
- Many supported the idea of cutting grass less often in areas away from paths to help wildlife and nature.
- Some people were in favour of cutting grass less often at Retirement Life schemes.
- Most residents said that keeping shrubs, flower beds, and hedges tidy is important.
- Most also said that removing litter is important.
We’re now using this feedback to help set the standards for a new grounds maintenance contract, which will start in early 2027.
