Important milestone on housing project

An important milestone has been reached in the Heart of Holbeck housing project, with work now underway on 100 homes across the area.

The homes include a mix of council-owned, privately rented and owner-occupied properties, and are the first to benefit from the wider Heart of Holbeck regeneration programme.

The improvements will help make homes warmer, more comfortable and more energy efficient. Work includes installing external wall insulation, new roofs, windows and doors.

These upgrades will help reduce energy bills, make homes cheaper to heat and support residents through colder weather. The improvements are expected to have a positive impact on health and wellbeing, particularly for some of the area's most vulnerable residents.

The project marks the first phase of a major programme of investment designed to improve homes and neighbourhoods across Holbeck for the long term.  All properties should be completed by Spring 2027.
