We would like to provide you with an update on the construction works currently underway as part of the Leeds City Links scheme.
Great George Street
Remaining pavement works outside the shops on Great George Street, are nearly complete. Once complete, work will move to the new segregated cycle lanes on the opposite side of the road, outside Leeds General Infirmary. This will help to create a safer and more accessible route for cyclists travelling through the city centre.
We and our contractors continue to liaise closely with stakeholders here to ensure everyone is kept informed as the project progresses.

Calverley Street
On the south-east side of Calverley Street, ducting and kerbing works are continuing as we prepare the area for the next stages of the scheme. On the north-east side, the team is completing the final sections of paving, bringing this area closer to completion.
Woodhouse Lane junction
Paving works outside KFC are nearing completion, while the newly improved pavement outside Boojum and Blue Pavilion is now open for pedestrians. Work has also moved onto the opposite side of the junction, with the removal and excavation of the existing planters opposite McDonald’s in preparation for the next phase of improvements.

Call Lane
Progress continues here with paving and kerbing works outside Revolution de Cuba nearing completion, with the team currently carrying out the finishing touches to this area.

The Calls
Works outside Coachworks have now been completed, including the cobbled section, helping to further enhance the appearance of the area. The new cycle lane has also been completed, marking another key milestone for the scheme.

We continue to liaise closely with stakeholders across the scheme to ensure everyone is kept informed as the project progresses.
We would like to thank residents, businesses, visitors and road users for their continued patience and understanding while these works are carried out. We appreciate that construction activities can sometimes cause disruption, and your ongoing support has helped us make excellent progress across the project.
Thank you for your continued patience during the works. You can contact us at any time at connectingleeds@leeds.gov.uk.
