Lawnswood Roundabout Improvement Scheme

Thanks to those of you who managed to attend the update meeting on Thursday 18 July 2024.

The meeting was attended by over 100 people, which exceeded our expectations. 

Attendees were able to view the latest designs on the boards which were displayed prior to the start of the presentations, and our team were on hand to answer questions. This was followed by a presentation, covering the background to the scheme, key elements of the proposal, progress to date, design changes since the public consultation exercise, proposed Traffic Regulation Orders, landscape design and next steps.

This was followed by a question and answer session.

Some residents raised concerns about the scheme during the meeting. The project team will produce a response to these as part of an update to the Lawnswood website, as we move towards construction of the scheme. 

A Full Business Case is currently undergoing appraisal by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. Subject to the relevant approvals being received, the main construction works are expected to begin in January 2025.

Finally, we are committed to engaging further with those most directly impacted by the roadworks, once we are closer to starting on site.
