Station Gateway improvements coming in 2026

Following the recent TRU Morley Station upgrades the station gateway now requires stronger legibility and better connectivity from the station to the town centre and local employment sites.

Core objectives of the scheme

We will improve Station Road, install new wayfinding and signage and create a better environment in that first mile experience from the station to the town centre.

The core objectives include:

• Improving the safety and visibility of this key junction.
• To make it safer for cyclists and pedestrians to navigate.
• Clearer crossing points. 
• More trees to be planted.
• To bring more greenery and biodiversity.
• To have a more inviting and vibrant environment around the station area (murals, artwork).
• To create a more legible streetscape with a clearer identity including new wayfinding and signage.
• To provide a safe attractive setting for the local residents and businesses.

Station Road scheme will shortly be procured and a contractor announced. The target date for this scheme is Autumn 2026.
