Driving to Leeds General Infirmary

Driving to Leeds city centre? Use the ring road - map

The easiest way to Leeds General Infirmary is by using the city’s ring road.

Previous routes through the city centre are likely to have changed and, in some instances, may now be closed to private vehicles.

  • From M621 Junction 2: Follow the A643 before joining the A58 / A58(M) Inner Ring Road, before leaving at the exit signed Skipton A660. Get in the right lane marked CITY A64M and turn sharp right at the traffic lights and then continue down Woodhouse Lane into the city centre. Turn right onto Portland Way and right onto Calverley Street and then Clarendon Way to access the LGI multi-storey car park.

This route is shown as a purple line on the map below.

  • From M621 Junction 4: - follow the A61 and and use the right-hand lanes to move onto East Street and then Marsh Lane before joining the A64(M) westbound ring road. Exit the A64(M) as directed by permanent signage to the hospital (also signed A660 and First Direct Arena) and continue to Portland Way. Turn right onto Calverley St then onto Clarendon Way to access the LGI multi-storey car park.

This route is shown as an orange line at the bottom of the map below.

  • From the A64(M) westbound: Follow instructions as above.

This route is shown as an orange line at the top of the map below.

From the A58 Claypit Lane: After the Sheepscar A61/A58 junction, keep in the left-hand lane going up the hill. Follow Claypit Lane and turn right onto Woodhouse Lane, as directed by permanent signage to the hospital and continue to Portland Way. Turn right onto Calverley St then onto Clarendon Way to access the LGI multi-storey car park.
