Calverley River Bridge Repairs
The A6120 Outer Ring Road between Horsforth and Rodley roundabouts carries around 34,000 vehicles daily and is a vital part of Leeds' road network. This road includes the Calverley River Bridge which passes over the River Aire and requires urgent maintenance to remain useable in the future.
Leeds City Council have submitted a funding bid to the Department for Transport (DfT) Structures Fund seeking £9m in funding, with a further £3m provided by the council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority. DfT are expecting to make a decision this autumn.
The works would require the installation of scaffolding to access the underside of the structure, leaving the highway on top fully operational but running at a reduced speed limit of 30mph for the duration of the works. Further details will be available when the scheme is moving into delivery.
The bid document is available below.
