1620 trees have been planted!

1620 trees have been planted through the Morley Town Deal and White Rose Forest funding.

Tilhill Forestry supplied the trees and carried out the planting at the end of March during the first planting season.

The woodland tree species include hawthorn, hazel, silver birch, field maple, pine, and oak, as well as various mixes of hedgerow trees.

The agreement was facilitated between Tilhill Forestry and Marshalls plc to plant on land at Marshalls’ Howley Park Quarry at Woodkirk.

This low-density woodland was only possible through a multi-partner agreement with Morley Town Deal, Marshalls, and White Rose Forest.

White Rose Forest funding supports woodland creation projects across West and North Yorkshire and supported throughout the design, planning and planting process.
