North city centre car parks

Driving to car parks north of the city centre using the ring road

Transforming our City Centre

Driving to car parks in the north of the city centre (Woodhouse Lane, Merrion, St Johns, The Core, Q-Park Albion Street)

The easiest way to drive to car parks in the north of the city centre is by using the city’s ring road.

From the M621 you can either use Junction 4 or Junction 2 and then loop around the city centre.

This is usually easier than using Junction 3 and driving through the city centre, as previous routes are likely to have changed and, in some instances, may now be closed to private vehicles.

  • From M621 J4 - follow the A61 and use the right-hand lanes to move onto East Street and then Marsh Lane, before joining the A64(M) ring road westbound signed Inner Ring Road Skipton (A660). Exit the A64(M) as directed by permanent signage to the First Direct Arena and Skipton A660. Turn left onto A660 Woodhouse Lane and follow the road into the city centre before following signs for car parks.

This route is shown as an orange line at the bottom of the map below.

  • From M621 J2 - follow the A643 before joining the A58 / A58(M) Inner Ring Road, before leaving at the exit signed Skipton A660. Get in the right lane marked CITY A64M and turn sharp right at the traffic lights and then continue down Woodhouse Lane into the city centre, before following signs for car parks.

This route is shown as a purple line on the map below.

If you are travelling from the A64(M) westbound, you should exit the A64(M) as directed by permanent signage to the First Direct Arena and Skipton A660. Turn left onto A660 Woodhouse Lane and follow the road into the city centre before following signs for car parks.

This route is shown as an orange line at the top of the map below.
