Scatcherd Park playground works to commence

Scatcherd Park is an existing greenspace that will be uplifted with a series of improvements, that will substantially improve the town’s environment and support local play and health outcomes.

Most improvements are to the existing greenspace with the addition of new features in the Sunken Garden (currently on site), sculpture trail, reconfigured playground and gym with new equipment.

Funding has come from the Morley Town Deal grant, Morley Town Council Community Investment Levy and S106 agreement.

The Sunken Gardens works are on site and progressing well, and the remaining playground works will start week commencing 19 October 2026.  All works are expected to be completed early 2027 (weather dependant).

The Scatcherd Park playground will remain closed for the duration of the works, but your nearest playground is Dartmouth Park playground (10-15 minute walk).

We can’t wait to open the new playground in early 2027.

The final pocket park to be delivered under the Morley Town Deal greenspace investment will be Beryl Burton pocket park early in 2027, taking the number of pocket parks and greenspaces invested in to ten.
