Driving to The Light using the city's ring road

Transforming our City Centre

Driving to The Light

Driving to Leeds city centre? Use the ring road - map.

The easiest way to drive to The Light the north of the city centre is by using the city’s ring road.

From the M621 you can either use Junction 4 or Junction 2 and then loop around the city centre.

This is usually easier than using Junction 3 and driving through the city centre, as previous routes are likely to have changed and in some instances may now be closed to private vehicles.

From the M621 at Junction 2 - Follow the A643 before joining the A58 and briefly the A58(M) Inner Ring Road, leaving to re-join the A58 onto Westgate. Turn left onto Oxford Place and then right onto Great George St. Follow Great George St before turning right onto Dudley Way.

This route is shown as a purple line on the map below.

From the M621 at Junction 4  - Follow the A61 and use the right-hand lanes to move onto East Street and Marsh Lane before joining the A64(M) ring road westbound. Exit the A64(M) as directed by permanent signage to the First Direct Arena. Turn left onto A660 Woodhouse Lane and then right onto Portland Way, following this to the end before turning left at the traffic lights onto Calverley Street and right onto Portland Street. Turn left onto Great George Street and follow this until the right turn for Dudley Way and the Light car park.

This route is shown as an orange line on the map below.
