Upcoming road closures and night works along A660

Road closures:

• There will be an overnight road closure for two nights at Hyde Park Road junction, 7pm-6am, on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October 2025. This is to improve the underground equipment for the traffic signals at this junction 
• Woodhouse Street/A660 junction will be closed 24/7 to vehicles from 20th October 2025 - 26th January 2026. The closure allows us to build pavements, public spaces, and cycling and pedestrian crossing facilities faster. It will be lifted during the Christmas period to help with Christmas traffic.  

Night works:

• Night works will be happening in Section 1 and 2 (see map below) along the A660 Otley Road and Headingley Lane, from Shaw Lane to Richmond Avenue from now until Spring 2026. The works will be happening periodically alongside some daytime works, and will be carried out at night between 7pm-5am, with any noisy works undertaken before 11pm. This will enable faster construction – helping buses and local businesses by reducing daytime disruption. To carry out this work safely, we will use temporary traffic lights - making the road a single lane allowing both directions of traffic to keep moving.
