Investing in heritage buildings across Morley
The heritage investment programme is working on existing shopfront buildings across Morley as well as improving a community hall. Here's what has been delivered so far.
Morley Town Deal
Have you noticed any of the heritage buildings changing across Morley? Several heritage shopfronts on Queen Street have benefited from Morley Town Deal investment works. The work includes restoring traditional shopfronts that are complementary to the newly consolidated Morley Conservation Area and bringing vacant commercial properties back into use.

Further investment on heritage shopfronts is also underway - construction has started on properties at Morley Bottoms, with several other properties working towards grant agreements to deliver further commercial space in the town centre and restore buildings to their former glory.
The shopfronts that form part of the Morley Conservative Club building are due to complete shortly to build on and consolidate the positive heritage-led regeneration of Morley Bottoms.

Finally, the listed St Peter's Community Centre has received Morley Town Deal funding as part of a larger project to restore one of the oldest public buildings in the town, providing increased and enhanced space for community use. The new community centre opened in early July to the community.

The Morley Heritage Investment Fund complements wider investment in the heritage of Morley, including the two other Town Deal projects that are restoring landmark listed buildings – Morley Town Hall and the new Morley Learning & Skills Centre.
