Dartmouth Park celebration event a success!

The newly landscaped Botanical Gardens at Dartmouth Park was showcased at a family friendly event on Sunday 14 September, organised by the Morley Town Deal team at Leeds City Council.   

The event marked the completion of recent investment delivered through the Morley Town Deal, which has transformed the botanical gardens with new planting, seating and pathways; creating a beautiful and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.

Local residents and families joined in for a fun-filled afternoon of free activities. Children went on an exciting teddy bear hunt through the gardens, got creative with plant pot painting, and worked alongside a local artist to produce vibrant artworks. The paintings will then be transformed into plaques and displayed across different parks in Morley which have received Town Deal investment.

The event also brought together local Morley businesses from Nature Emporium to Franklin Smiths and many more!  It was great to see so many people exploring the gardens and enjoying the new space together.

• In a Facebook post, Cllr Carol Edwards the Lord Mayor of Morley said: “Today was the opening of the Dartmouth Park Botanical Gardens, completed through Morley Town Deal. What a transformation! The artwork is beautifully done! Well done to all concerned.”
• Many attendees posted of their enjoyment of the day on social media saying the Botanical Gardens, “looks amazing”, and that it is “fantastic” update to the park. Others also commented on how it was lovely to see the children running around and local Morley businesses coming together.
