Sites B & C – Greenspace Proposals

Sites B and C will be the focus of ecological enhancements and greenspace improvements. The key components of these proposed improvements will focus on the delivery of native bushes, shrubs and tree planting, as well as wildflower grass and bulb planting.

The current design proposals also set out a nature trail consisting of a grassed path surrounded by the wildflower grass, shrubs and trees, located close to the eastern boundary of site B. There is also a proposal to deliver a Natural Play Trail around the centre of site B. This will consist of natural materials such as logs and stepping stones. The initial proposals can be seen on the plan below, however further detail will be worked up in the next stage of development. In addition, Natural Seating areas are proposed which will be formed from rocks which will also provide barriers stopping vehicular access on to the site.

There are also current landscape design proposals to provide wayfinding signs directing people through the site and on to Ramshead Wood. Litter bins and dog waste bins along key desire lines and close to the public highway throughout the site.

A maintenance pathway has been designed into the proposal to enable regular maintenance of the site.

Confirmation of the provision of street furniture will be finalised following this public consultation, throughout the next stage of development. Updates will be provided on the Latest News Tile via a ‘You Said, We Did’ segment.
