Driving to St James’ Hospital

Driving to Leeds city centre? Use the ring road - map

If you are driving to St James’ Hospital, the easiest way to do this may be by using the city’s ring road.

Previous routes through the city centre are likely to have changed and, in some instances, may now be closed to private vehicles.

  • If travelling from the M621 southwest of Leeds - continue past J2 and J3. From M621 J4 follow the A61 and then Marsh Lane and continue under the A64(M) to Beckett Street. St James’ multi-storey car park and public parking is available off Beckett St.
  • From M621 J4 - follow the A61 and use the right-hand lanes to move onto East Street and and then Marsh Lane and continue under the A64(M) to Beckett Street. St James’ Multi Storey Car Park and public parking is available off Beckett St.
  • From the A64 (M) westbound – leave the A64(M) onto Marsh Lane. Turn right onto Shannon Street and right again onto Marsh Lane, continuing under the A64(M) to Beckett Street. St James’ multi-storey car park and public parking is available off Beckett St. END

  • If you are travelling from the A647 eastbound / A58 (M) we would encourage you to use the A58(M) eastbound. Follow this as it becomes the A64(M) and A64 York Road before exiting onto Ivy Street roundabout. Take the fourth exit onto the A64 westbound towards the city centre, exiting onto Marsh Lane.  Turn right onto Shannon Street and right again onto Marsh Lane, continuing under the A64(M) to Beckett Street. St James’ multi-storey car park and public parking is available off Beckett St.

This route is shown as a purple line on the map below.
