Creating more space to cycle for travel and daily exercise
Connecting Leeds is committed to ensuring people feel safe enough to do their everyday essential journeys or get their daily exercise by bike or foot. Our ‘cycling starts here’ ambition is for a network of 800km of segregated cycle routes across Leeds. From the thousands of suggestions and comments from phase 1 of the consultation we have prioritised about 100km of routes to bring forwards with "wands and orcas" (semi-permanent bollards which are bolted to the road) to physically separate the space for cyclists and traffic.
