Leeds Local Plan - Sites

What is this consultation about?

One of the main objectives of Planning is to make sure that development happens in sustainable places. Therefore, sustainable development can be summarised as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

The Leeds Local Plan must allocated land for development and so this page is for you to help us decide where that should be.

This consultation is broken down into two parts: policies and objectives and sites (including site appraisals and call for sites). Links to these can be found below. Please note, you are not expected to answer every single question of this consultation. You can choose to respond to all sites or topics, or only the sites or topics you're interested in. We want to hear your views on what matters to you.

How to navigate this page

To make this process easier to navigate, we have divided this page into three sections:

1. Introduction, Methodology and Call for Sites

This is where you can learn the context of site assessments, review and comment on the site assessment methodology and submit a new site for development

2. Assessment of Potential Sites

We have divided Leeds into 11 sub-areas. When you click on a sub-area you will be taken to a page which shows a boundary of said area and all the sites that have been submitted for development.

We would recommend that you view the map of all the sites in a sub-area so you can understand where development is then being proposed. If you click on a site, you will be taken to another page which explains what has been proposed on that site and how we have assessed the site according to our Site Methodology.

3. Leeds Local Plan

This section will guide you back to the homepage of the Leeds Local Plan where you will be able to see the policies and objectives.
