The city of Liberty Lake is undertaking an update to our comprehensive plan for 2026-2046 in compliance with the Washington State Growth Management Act. The completion deadline for this project is June 30, 2026. The city's Comprehensive Plan serves as a blueprint for guiding future growth and development, shaping policies on land use, housing, transportation, economic development, and more. This update aims to guide long-term growth and development, providing a foundation for sustainable and well-planned community growth that reflects the vision and needs of our residents. The plan update ensures that the city's goals and policies align with current needs, projected growth, and state requirements, fostering a sustainable and vibrant community.

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN KICKOFF MEETING: The city's Planning Department provided the public a presentation about the Liberty Lake 2026-2046 Comprehensive Plan on Oct. 21, 2024, in the Rotary Room of the Trailhead Golf Course's clubhouse, where attendees had the opportunity to ask initial questions and offer ideas. Climate Policy Advisory Team
The Climate Policy Advisory Team for Liberty Lake is designed to serve as a local advisory body for the climate element of the Comprehenseive Plan Update. Its primary role is to act as a community representative, ensuring that the propject team understands and aligns with the community's needs and priorities. This group will provide insights and advice on policy recommendations, focusing on disaster preparedness and future-proofing. It aims to foster community engagement by educating residents about potential climate impacts and by promoting ongoing support for climate-related goals and actions. This team will include diverse local voices and leaders to ensure broad representation, and will collaborate closely with the project team to ground technical analyses in the community context.
