East Mission Avenue Overlay
About
Edge grinding and overlay of E. Mission Avenue will occur from late April and into the summer of 2026, with updating of existing curb ramps to bring them into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project will reahabilitate the roadway to enhance driving and biking conditions. This work on E. Mission Avenue will run from E. Country Vista Drive to N. Molter Road.
The map here shows the Pavement Condition Index ("PCI") throughout the project area. The PCI involves a 0-100 score that indicates how healthy a road is. The higher numbers indicate smoother and safer pavement, while the lower numbers indicate an increased need for repair. PCI condition categories are: Excellent (86-100), Good (71-85), Fair (56-70), and Poor (41-55). The majority of E. Mission Ave. is in the "Poor" category.
Road work will occur during daytime hours. Travelers should expect minor delays due to work zone traffic control. Access to businesses along the road will be maintained to the highest extent possible during the work activities. During the paving process, Mission Avenue will be reduced to one-way traffic. Travelers are encouraged to use alternate routes during the project's work.
Awarded construction cost: $977,177
