Taggart Park Improvements

About

The City of Lock Haven was recently awarded funding in the amount of $350,000 through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) programs. The funding will be used to complete substantial improvements to Taggart Park including upgrades to the restrooms, parking lot, and baseball and softball dugouts. A walking path will be added to the park to increase accessibility and connectivity throughout the space. In addition to all of these much needed improvements, a unique stormwater feature will be constructed to combat the flooding that often causes games to be cancelled.

This project will involve many elements and must be scheduled around the baseball and softball seasons. With the seasons in mind, construction will be occuring in the fall months of 2024. "Building the Taggart Park Improvements project and hearing what everyone would like to see included in the park was one of my highlights from 2021. I was able to speak to individuals from the Keystone Babe Ruth Baseball League and Clinton Little League on what the park needs to function better for their teams. I am excited to break ground on this project in 2023!"
