Ninth round of the Mayor's London Community Energy Fund now open!

Funding Available for Community Energy Projects in Lewisham

Applications are now open for the latest round of the London Community Energy Fund (LCEF), offering valuable funding opportunities for community organisations looking to deliver clean energy and energy efficiency projects.

The Mayor of London's London Community Energy Fund is open to local community energy groups, charities, and voluntary and community sector organisations.

A total of up to £1.3 million is available across three funding streams to support community-led energy projects across London:

• Stream 1 – Feasibility Funding
• Stream 2 – Delivery Funding
• Stream 3 – Development Funding (opening in October 2026)

Applications for Streams 1 and 2 are now open and must be submitted by 11:59pm on Wednesday 30 September 2026.

The fund aims to help communities develop and deliver projects that reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and support the transition to clean energy. To help strengthen the community energy sector, organisations can allocate up to 25% of their grant funding towards core organisational costs.

Funding is primarily aimed at community energy organisations, but other community and voluntary sector organisations delivering clean energy or energy efficiency initiatives may also be eligible.
