Mayfield Hostel
Mayfield hostel has been identified as a potential site for redevelopment. In 2018, a planning application was granted for the site. Since then, economic conditions have changed significantly and the shortage of genuinely affordable and social homes in our borough has become even more acute. As a result, we are having to look again at the scheme and revisit the plans.
We are developing new proposals for the site and are keen for the local community to provide their feedback.

Meet the team
Lewisham Council's social home building programme, for which Lewisham Homes is the principal direct delivery agent.
Lewisham Council is the local planning authority and supports the housebuilding programme financially. It is the sole shareholder of Lewisham Homes.
Lewisham Homes builds and rents homes in Lewisham and has overall responsibility for delivering the Borough's ambitious housing programme. Lewisham Homes is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up by Lewisham Council in January 2007 to manage, maintain and improve its Council houses and estates. It is a private non-profit company of which the Council is the sole shareholder.
