How can we make your streets more sustainable?
Sustainable Streets
Our Sustainable Streets programme aims to reduce the number of car journeys in Lewisham and encourage more people to walk, cycle and use public transport. This will help reduce traffic, congestion and pollution, as well as improve road safety and lower carbon emissions.
To achieve this, we want to create streets that encourage people to travel more sustainably, discourage unnecessary car journeys and make better use of road space and pavements.
There are two parts to the programme:
- A review of existing permit parking in the area to see if operation hours need to be extended
- An interactive mapping exercise to find out what sustainable measures residents would like to see on their streets.
If you do not live in an area with permit parking, you can skip the survey and scroll down the page to the mapping exercise.

Mapping exercise
We want to hear from everyone who lives in the area about where they experience issues with parking, and what sustainable measures residents would like to see on their street.
We want to understand current issues with parking and get your ideas for measures that would make your streets safer and more sustainable.

Use our interactive map to share your feedback and ideas about:
- Parking: Are there issues with parking on your road? Is pavement parking a problem? Are commuters and parked cars causing congestion? Should more visitor parking be available? Do parking signs and road markings need to be reviewed?
- Sustainable transport measures: Where would you like to see more cycle hangars, street trees, electric vehicle charging points or car clubs (e.g. Zipcar)?
If you cannot use the interactive map, please share your feedback via this survey.
